Biography

Mayank Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Finance department at Boston University Questrom School of Business. His research interests focus on the intersection of finance and sustainability, specifically around the impact of carbon emissions on shareholder value and the transition of institutional investments towards greener alternatives. Through his selected presentations at numerous prestigious conferences, such as the Northern Finance Association and the Oxford Sustainable Private Markets Conference, Kumar has contributed significantly to discussions around fossil fuels and their implications for financial markets. His empirical studies provide causal evidence of how carbon emissions affect the valuation of U.S. power utilities, making a notable contribution to the literature on environmental finance.
