Professor Dr. Mayanka Mukherji

Biography

Mayanka Mukherji is a Departmental Lecturer in Visual and Material Museum Anthropology at the University of Oxford. She specializes in economic and visual material anthropology, particularly focusing on housing, inequality, and property relations in the UK. Her research examines homes and investment properties in London, investigating poor-quality and energy-vulnerable housing contexts. Alongside her research, Mayanka teaches the Visual, Material, and Museum Anthropology course, where she leads students through critical debates in visual anthropology and employs various methods-based workshops to generate ethnographic political understandings.
