Biography

Mayowa Ajibade is an Assistant Professor in Africana Studies, with research focused on 20th and 21st century African literature in English and African American literature. He is particularly interested in the works and practices of Black experimental writers. His scholarly interests encompass the relationship between politics and literature, literary history, African cinema, African studies, and Black diaspora studies. He is currently working on a book project that provides a relational study of the thoughts of notable authors including Bessie Head, Carlene Hatcher Polite, Dambudzo Marechera, and Renee Gladman.
