Biography

Mayuresh Patil is a professor in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. He specializes in the areas of structural mechanics dynamics. His research focuses on the development and application of computational methods, including immersed interface methods, optimization algorithms, multiscale and multiphysics problems, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and multifunctional materials. Patil's extensive research experience encompasses multidisciplinary analysis and optimization in fields such as aeroelasticity, structural mechanics, flight mechanics control, unsteady aerodynamics, and design optimization. He previously worked at Virginia Tech as an associate professor and graduate program director in the Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering. He has been recognized as an Associate Fellow of the AIAA and is a member of the AIAA Structural Dynamics Technical Committee. Additionally, he served as an Associate Editor for the AIAA Journal from 2015 to 2018.
