Biography

Meagan obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Dalhousie in 2018. She worked in a variety of specialties, specializing in critical care at Halifax Infirmary. Meagan began teaching in a clinical role at Dalhousie in 2021 and has continued to teach lab and lecture moving forward. She obtained a Master of Education degree at Mount Saint Vincent University in 2022. During her graduate studies, she worked with Mobile Outreach Street Health to provide primary health care to Halifax's homeless population. Meagan centers her educational approach on respecting the holistic individual and uses feminist theories to guide her practice, promoting the sharing of personal thoughts, emotions, and stories. She applies a person-first perspective while working with learners, acknowledging that the mental and physical health of students is a priority. Meagan shares her passion for mindfulness by regularly offering healthy coping strategies to students.
