Biography

Meera Mehta was born and raised in downtown Toronto, Canada. She completed her honours undergraduate training at McMaster University from 2008 to 2012, followed by a PhD at the University of Toronto from 2012 to 2017 under the mentorship of Professor Douglas Stephan. In 2018, she was awarded the Royal Society Newton International Fellowship to work with Professor Jose Goicoechea at the University of Oxford as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from 2018 to 2019. After her postdoctoral training, Meera was recruited by the University of Manchester as a Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry in 2020 to establish her independent research group. She returned to Oxford in 2024 as an Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry and currently serves as a tutorial fellow at Trinity College. Her research interests revolve around the synthesis of main group clusters and finding applications in catalysis and materials science, aiming to contribute to global sustainability efforts by capturing and converting greenhouse gases into useful feedstocks.
