Dr. Meera Shah

Biography

Meera Shah is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and serves as Chief Medical Officer at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, a position she has held since 2018. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing clinical services and support for Advanced Practice Clinicians. She has made significant contributions to the field, including the launch of Gender Affirming Care services and Rapid Initiation ART. Meera is also a vocal advocate for reproductive health, serving on the board of Physicians for Reproductive Health and as medical director at Whole Woman's Health in Petersburg, Virginia. Her expertise and leadership in the sector led to her recognition as a Female Trailblazer by Westchester County Doctors of Distinction in 2019. Additionally, she has published a book titled "You're I've Told: Stories Abortion," which was released on September 1, 2020, by Chicago Review Press. Meera holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, an MD from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, a Master of Public Health, and a Master of Science in Nutrition from Columbia University.
