Dr. Megan Bowman

Biography

Megan Bowman is a full Professor of Law and the founding Director of King's Centre for Climate Law & Governance. She leads a partnership between King's College London and the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), focusing on Legal Readiness for Climate Finance and consulting with governments and the private sector on implementing the Paris Agreement to achieve net-zero transitions. Her expertise includes empirical transnational analysis of financial regulation within company law, particularly in the context of climate change and planetary sustainability, which has garnered recognition in scientific reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and other prominent regulatory literature. She is the author of the book 'Banking on Climate Change: Finance Actors and Transnational Regulatory Regimes Responding,' which was launched by a High Court Justice in England and Wales. Dr. Bowman has held prestigious academic positions, including roles at McGill University and Monash University, and has received numerous accolades for her teaching and research efforts. She is actively engaged in the study of corporate accountability, climate litigation, and the sustainable finance movement, representing these subjects through her teaching and various high-impact research grants.
