Megan J. Gray is an academic pediatrician and clinician researcher at Dell Medical School. Her research focuses on preventing cycles of intergenerational obesity and metabolic disease by understanding the socio-environmental factors that contribute to early childhood health transmission, particularly in low-resource populations. She studies prenatal and early childhood nutrition, excess weight gain, responsive feeding, and healthy sleep practices in infants and toddlers. Gray has received funding from the American Diabetes Association to evaluate varying levels of parent coaching regarding healthy infant sleep and feeding in community health settings. Her research also includes the impact of food insecurity during the COVID-19 pandemic and parental motivations for COVID-19 vaccinations, as well as factors influencing perinatal COVID-19 immunity. Additionally, she has experience in qualitative research with immigrant families and is involved in advocacy work related to mental health systems collaboration. Gray teaches courses on immigrant health and health policy to residents and medical students.
