Biography

Megan Janeway, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, Boston University. She completed her medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and underwent general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Janeway's research has focused on examining the impact of socioeconomic factors on surgical outcomes. Following her residency, she completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Michigan in 2023, after which she returned to Boston Medical Center as an attending surgeon in the section of Acute Care Trauma Surgery. Dr. Janeway is a co-founder of Socially Responsible Surgery, a national organization formed in 2014 that promotes surgical knowledge and social responsibility in medicine.
