Dr. Megan Pfiffer

Biography

Megan Pfiffer is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto, with significant expertise in public law, legal philosophy, and political philosophy. She is the managing editor of the University of Toronto Law Journal and a co-editor of the upcoming edition of Edward Elgar's Comparative Administrative Law. For the 2024-2025 academic year, she will serve as a Visiting Doctoral Researcher at New York University's School of Law, affiliated with the Center for Law and Philosophy. Her thesis critically examines the justifications for administrative law and seeks to reframe contemporary debates regarding substantive review. Megan was awarded a JD from Queen's University, where she received the Silver Medal for achieving the highest academic standing in her graduating class, as well as the Dean's Key Award for embodying the signature values of Queen's Law. She has experience as an articling student at a leading litigation firm in Toronto and has clerked for Justice Rosalie Abella at the Supreme Court of Canada. She also holds a BCL from the University of Oxford, where she was honored with the Onora O'Neill Prize for her work in philosophy, law, and politics.
