Mehdi Adibi is an ARC DECRA research fellow at the Department of Physiology and the Biomedicine Discovery Institute at Monash University. He joined the Department of Physiology in September 2020, establishing the Neurodigit Lab focused on rodent electrophysiology. He previously held the NHMRC CJ Martin Early Career Fellowship at UNSW and SISSA in Italy. Mehdi obtained his PhD in Neuroscience in 2014 from UNSW, an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering in 2008 from Iran University of Science and Technology, and a BSc in Electrical Engineering (Communications) from Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. His research interests focus on neural coding and sensorimotor processing in dynamic environments, using model systems such as rodent whisker and human touch. The lab combines advanced imaging and electrophysiology technologies to study neuronal circuits during sensorimotor tasks. Mehdi is also involved in community outreach, contributing to programs that engage high school students in STEM education.
