Mehdi Badaoui obtained his MSc Degree in Molecular Interactions Therapeutics from Jules Verne University of Amiens, France, in 2013. He began his PhD focusing on the impact of the tumor microenvironment on breast cancer progression and the regulation of ion channels expression and activity. In 2018, he joined the laboratory of Professor Marc Chanson at the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism at the University of Geneva, where he investigates the abnormal remodeling of airway epithelium in cystic fibrosis and its contribution to chronic infections. His primary research interest lies in understanding the bidirectional communication between cells and their environment and how it regulates epithelial repair and regeneration.
