Dr. Mehdi Boussebaa

Biography

Mehdi Boussebaa is a Professor of International Management at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. He leads the International Business Enterprise Research Cluster at Glasgow and is a member of the Management Subject Leadership Team. Before joining Glasgow in 2016, Mehdi held positions such as Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Reader at the University of Bath's School of Management. He completed his ESRC-funded PhD at the University of Warwick in 2008 and subsequently held a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His research investigates global forces that shape organizations and identities, employing postcolonial political-economy perspectives. Within the business domain, his focus is on how multinationals manage operations and shape employee identities across borders, paying particular attention to professional service firms as significant drivers of globalization. In academia, he examines the global power dynamics that influence the experiences of scholars from various regions and the challenges of Western-centric management knowledge education. His research has been published in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Learning & Education and the Journal of International Business Studies.
