Biography

Mehdi Savaghebi received his B.Sc. degree from the University of Tehran, Iran, in 2004, and both his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2006 and 2012, respectively, specializing in Electrical Engineering. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Energy, Aalborg University, from 2014 to 2017, and as an Associate Professor and Research Team Leader at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense for four years. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at the Technical University of Denmark in Ballerup, where he leads the Power Electronics-Enabled Power Systems section. His main research interests encompass renewable energy systems, microgrids, power quality protection, and electrical systems, and he focuses on contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He has been actively engaged in significant projects such as coordinated control of energy storage units, grid-forming converters for energy islands, communication technologies for microgrids, and has a wealth of expertise in smart grid technologies.
