Mehmet Kurt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington. Mehmet's research has garnered recognition and awards including the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Postdoctoral Fellowship and the NSF Scientific Visualization Award. He actively engages in initiatives to increase participation and visibility of LGBTQ+ students in STEM disciplines and is involved in mentorship and outreach programs.
