Professor Dr. Mehran Mehrandezh

Biography

Mehran Mehrandezh is a Professor in the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering at the University of Regina. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1999, following an M.Sc. from Queens University in 1995, and a B.Sc. from Sharif University of Technology in Iran in 1989. His research interests encompass various facets of robotics and automation, particularly focusing on motion planning for cooperating robotic arms in dynamic environments, autonomous sensor-based motion planning for articulated mobile robots, and computer-integrated manufacturing processes. He is also engaged in research involving remote control and analysis via the Internet, urban search and rescue robotics, and time-optimal rendezvous planning among cooperating robots. His extensive publication record includes contributions to leading journals and conferences in robotics, emphasizing innovative solutions for improving efficiency and effectiveness in robotic applications. He is committed to advancing the field through both teaching and cutting-edge research in robotics.
