Biography

Mehran Mesbahi graduated from the University of Southern California in June 1996. He worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology in the Guidance Control Analysis Group from July 1996 to December 1999. During this time, he held appointments in the Department of Electrical Engineering-Systems at USC (1997-1998) and the Department of Control and Dynamical Systems at Caltech (1998-1999). In January 2000, he became an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering Mechanics at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. In summer 2002, Professor Mesbahi joined the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the University of Washington. His research interests include Automatic Control, Autonomous Vehicles, Optimization, Space Systems, Air Traffic Management, Aerospace Technology, Innovation, Robotics, and Aerospace Information Networks.
