Biography

Mei Xue Dong, MD, PhD, received her medical degree from Wuhan University School of Medicine before pursuing her PhD at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her doctoral research focused on chemoattractant signaling pathways related to leukocyte activation in the context of infection, inflammation, and arteriosclerosis. Following her PhD, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Craft’s laboratory at Yale while also finishing her rheumatology fellowship. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine, actively involved in clinical care and education of medical trainees. Her research interests include the risk factors and prevention of cardiovascular disease in rheumatic disorders, with a specific emphasis on patients with lupus. Dr. Dong is also pioneering the Yale lupus patient registry and biorepository, contributing to advancements in understanding and treating rheumatic diseases.
