Biography

Meik Franke is a Full Professor in the field of Process Design Optimization within the Sustainable Process Technology Group at the University of Twente. He studied Chemical Engineering at the Technical University (TU) Dortmund, where he obtained his PhD in Laboratory of Fluid Separations under the supervision of Professor Andrzej Górak in 2001. In January 2021, he was appointed as a professor, focusing on advanced process design and optimization, specifically in mixed-integer optimization and uncertainty management in chemical batch plants. His research interests encompass advanced process design, chemical engineering, extraction, dewatering, membrane reactor engineering, optimization, distillation models, and discrete event simulation.
