Biography

Meisha Shofner is a Professor and Associate Chair of Graduate Studies in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Rice University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a design engineer at FMC Subsea Engineering Division, with experience in plant locations in Houston, Texas and the Republic of Singapore. Her research focuses on processing-structure-property relationships in polymers and composites, emphasizing scalable processing approaches that are relevant to emerging materials, mechanical metamaterials, natural polymers, and nanocomposites. Shofner is involved in various professional societies, including being a member/fellow of the American Chemical Society and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
