Melanie has a 20-year career in the NHS prior to joining King's College London in February 2021. Her passions include cardiology, nursing leadership, and sustainable healthcare. Moreover, Melanie is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusivity, being an ally for LGBTQ+ issues and the Black Lives Matter movement. She leads modules such as Working and Motivating in Cardiac Care, and teaches optional modules for undergraduate nursing students and master's level students. On 20 March 2024, Melanie's work in sustainability was shortlisted for the London Higher Awards 2024, recognizing the Faculty's efforts to embed sustainability in healthcare teaching.
