Melanie Parry hails from a small town in Wyoming and obtained her Master’s Degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Arizona in Tucson in 2005. Her interest in teaching Spanish began while she was serving a Spanish-speaking mission from 1998 to 2000. Since then, she has taught beginning and intermediate Spanish at a wide variety of universities and community colleges. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in clubs and organizations related to Hispanic culture and education. Her teaching interests are diverse and include anything related to Andean countries, 19th century Latin American literature, and language pedagogy. She is passionate about fostering a rich understanding of the Spanish language and its literature among her students.
