Professor Dr. Melba Crawford

Biography

Melba M. Crawford is the Frank Bossu Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. from Ohio State University and has dedicated her research to geomatics engineering. Her prominent work involves the development of advanced methodologies for the analysis of remote sensing data. Notably, Crawford has engaged in various significant research projects, including a collaborative NASA project aimed at developing frameworks for high-dimensional multi-sensor remote sensing data. She has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses focusing on operations research, statistical methods, and remote sensing. Throughout her career, Crawford has received numerous accolades, including the UT Engineering Foundation Faculty Excellence Award and the NASA Outstanding Service Award.
