Biography

Dr. Melissa Brooks is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School in the Department of Emergency Medicine. She completed her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and her pediatric residency at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids. She has worked clinically in the pediatric emergency department at Hurley Medical Center and served as the clinical site director for the University of Michigan Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship program from 2017 to 2022. Currently, she is the medical director for PALS at Hurley Medical Center and serves as a medical director for Camp Copneconic in Fenton, Michigan. In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Brooks is a Child Abuse Consulting Physician at Hurley Medical Center. Her research interests focus on child abuse, pain management, and quality improvement in pediatric emergency care.
