Dr. Melissa Campbell

Biography

Melissa M. Campbell is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Duke University, specializing in Pediatric Infectious Diseases. She completed her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine, and subsequently pursued residency at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Melissa further advanced her training with a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she honed her expertise in managing infectious diseases in children. Her research primarily focuses on the impacts of vaccination and exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in educational settings. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she plays an active role in leading research studies funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Melissa's significant contributions to the field are reflected in her publications, including work on COVID-19 vaccination strategies and RSV studies in infants. With a commitment to improving child health outcomes, she continues to engage in academic and clinical practices that address pressing public health challenges facing pediatric populations.
