Dr. Melissa Green

Biography

Professor Melissa Green is a prominent academic in the field of Psychology at the University of New South Wales, specializing in mental health, epidemiology, developmental psychology, and cognitive neuroscience. With a PhD from the University of Sydney, her research primarily focuses on early intervention and prevention strategies for mental health issues among young people. She employs methodologies from epidemiology, cognitive neuroscience, and genetics to conduct large interdisciplinary studies that explore the risk and protective factors associated with mental disorders throughout the life course. Professor Green serves as the Director of Research at the School of Clinical Medicine and has numerous external appointments, including as an Associate Editor for two respected journals in psychology and psychiatry. She is actively involved in significant research projects, such as the NSW Child Development Study, which examines developmental trajectories in a cohort of 90,000 children.
