Dr. Melissa Singh

Biography

Melissa Singh is an experienced teaching professor at the Virtual Academic Center of the University of Southern California's Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. With over twenty years in online teaching across undergraduate and graduate levels, she specializes in practicum education. Singh earned her Doctorate in Organizational Change Leadership from USC, and her educational background includes a Master of Science from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida. Her areas of expertise encompass online pedagogy, social work practicum instruction, ecosocial work, hospice and palliative care, healthcare administration, innovation, mental health recovery, and social work education. Singh is actively involved in various professional associations and has received numerous accolades including the Outstanding Practice Educator Award and the Hutto Patterson Distinguished Faculty Award for her commitment to teaching excellence and service to the community. She is dedicated to building inclusive learning environments and engages in research related to social determinants of health and environmental health justice.
