Biography

Dr. Melissa S. Stockwell is a pediatrician specializing in general pediatrics and primary care, focusing on the health of children and adolescents. As the Chief of the Division of Child and Adolescent Health and the Felice K. Shea Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University's Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, she also holds a professorship in Population and Family Health at the Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Stockwell serves as the Medical Director for the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Immunization Registry and co-directs the Primary Care Clinician Research Fellowship at Columbia University. Her research emphasizes the importance of translational health interventions to improve vaccination rates among underserved populations by leveraging health technology and enhancing health literacy. Additionally, Dr. Stockwell contributes to various health initiatives, including the New York City Department of Health's Immunization Improvement Team and the American Academy of Pediatrics' Pediatric Research Office Settings.
