Meng Gong graduated with a BScE and MScE in Wood Science Technology from Nanjing Forestry University in China, followed by a PhD in Wood Engineering from the University of New Brunswick (UNB). He joined UNB in 2003 as a Research Scientist at the Wood Science Technology Centre (WSTC) and has served as its Director multiple times. Dr. Gong is a voting member of the Canadian Commission on Construction Materials Evaluations (CCCME) and the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. In 2015, he was elected as a Fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS), an honor that recognizes his significant contributions to the field of wood science.
