Biography

Meng Su is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Penn State Behrend. He earned his B.S. in Mathematics and M.S. in Computational Mathematics from Nanjing University, China, followed by an M.S. in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He joined the faculty at Penn State Behrend in 2000 after teaching at Southern Illinois University Carbondale from 1999 to 2000 and being a faculty member at East China University of Science and Technology from 1987 to 1995. His original training is in nonlinear analysis and computational mathematics. Currently, his research involves applications of massive data analysis and machine learning problems within the context of information retrieval, bridging the fields of computer science and mathematics. Professor Su is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.
