Dr. Meng Zhang

Biography

Meng Zhang is a Teaching Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in instructional design and teaching Chinese as a foreign language (TCFL). His research focuses on the role of the Confucius Institute in building China's soft power in Scandinavia. Zhang has developed a hybrid teaching approach for conversation courses in Chinese language, enabling him to adapt his teaching methods to the individual learning styles and goals of his students. He has rich experience in online teaching and in developing courses that include politics and culture aspects of China. Zhang holds a Master of Arts in Asian Studies from Lund University, where he studied the integration of soft power in educational contexts, and a Master of Science in Educational Science from the University of Groningen, focusing on instructional design. He is proficient in developing flexible and adaptable curricula that suit varying student needs.
