Biography

Mengfei Jiang is a Lecturer and the Finance Programme Director for the MSc Climate Change, Finance & Investment at the University of Edinburgh Business School. She holds an MSc in Finance and Investment Management from the University of Aberdeen and completed her PhD in Carbon Finance at the University of Edinburgh. Mengfei’s academic journey includes a role as a Research Fellow on the BHP CCS Project at her current institution from 2018 to 2020, followed by a position as a Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University's Edinburgh Business School in 2022. She is also an Associate Member of the UKRI Interdisciplinary Centre Circular Chemical Economy UK-China (Guangdong) CCUS Centre. Mengfei contributes to various interdisciplinary research projects, including the UKRI VaCoBD project and works that examine carbon emission modelling and energy systems retrofit. She has provided consulting services for World Bank Group-funded projects focused on enhancing carbon market readiness in China and improving clean energy supply chains in Bangladesh. Her research interests include carbon pricing, climate change, energy policies, low-carbon project financing, financial modelling, and understanding the interplay between climate change mitigation and corporate strategies.
