Mercedes Bleda is a Professor of Strategy and Innovation at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Murcia in Spain, and a PhD in Innovation Studies from the University of Manchester. Prior to completing her PhD in the UK, Mercedes served as a lecturer in mathematical economics and conducted research on complex dynamical systems at the Department of Quantitative Economics at the University of Murcia. During her doctoral studies, she joined the Centre for Research on Organisations, Management and Technical Change (CROMTEC) and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Manchester. Currently, she is a member of the Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability (ISS) research group at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), working on research projects related to strategic decision-making for climate change adaptation and sustainable innovation policy. Her research interests focus on organizational decision-making, particularly in relation to corporate climate change adaptation and innovation policy decisions within public organizations. She has contributed to numerous research projects funded by the European Commission, OECD, ESRC, EPSRC, and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, collaborating with leading institutions in the UK.
