Biography

Meredith Evans is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at Concordia University. She holds a PhD in English from Johns Hopkins University (2006), an MA in English from the same institution (2003), and a BA in English from Cambridge University (1999). Additionally, she earned a BA in Philosophy from McGill University (1997). Her research interests encompass Renaissance literature, Shakespeare, Milton, gender studies, philosophy and literature, critical theory, and politics in literature. Her current research project, funded by SSHRC, focuses on the political and ethical values represented in Shakespeare’s late plays and Milton’s post-Restoration writings. She has contributed to several edited volumes and organized various seminars within her field. Dr. Evans is recognized for her contributions to English literature and is actively engaged in research that interrogates the intersection of gender and history in early modern texts.
