Biography

Merlinda Andoni is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Energy Sustainability Group at the University of Glasgow, focusing on the challenges of achieving a resilient, low-carbon sustainable energy system. She has supported significant research projects, including the EPSRC DecarbonISation PAThways Cooling Heating (DISPATCH) project and the InnovateUK ReFLEX project, which is one of the largest UK demonstrator projects for smart grids. With over 25 published scientific papers, her work has been influential in policy circles and recognized by various academic awards such as the Young Professionals Green Energy Award in 2018. Merlinda holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, where she utilized game-theoretical techniques to inform investment decisions in renewable energy projects. She also obtained an M.Sc. with distinction in Renewable Energy from Heriot-Watt University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. Moreover, she has more than 2.5 years of professional experience in the Renewable Energy sector as an energy consultant and takes an active role in academia as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, specializing in renewable energy courses.
