Dr. Merrill Mathew

Biography

Merrill Mathew is a Board Certified Adult Forensic Psychiatrist based in Stamford, Connecticut. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. A native of California, Dr. Mathew completed his undergraduate and post-graduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, and received his doctorate degree from Western University of Health Sciences. He served as Chief Resident at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Medicine, where he completed his psychiatric residency. Dr. Mathew then went on to complete a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale Law and Psychiatry Fellowship. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law and currently serves as a member of the Ethics Committee. Additionally, he received certification in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) from Duke University. Dr. Mathew’s work has been published in nationally recognized peer-reviewed journals, and he has a private psychiatric practice, Mathew Psychiatry, where he focuses on clinical forensic work.
