Biography

Mhairi McKenzie is a Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), specializing in Health Policy. With a strong academic foundation, Mhairi completed her PhD in Child Health Research at University College London’s Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. She previously taught the BASc program at University College London and was a visiting researcher at the Health Technology Assessment Institute in Glasgow. Mhairi has played a pivotal role in the development of the Health Economics module at the University of Edinburgh and worked within the NHS, focusing on data analysis and service development particularly in mental health workforce areas. Her research is centered on child health and is characterized by significant engagement with patient public involvement (PPI). Mhairi is also interested in the financing of European health systems, biases, and the health sector’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a mixed-methods researcher, she employs both quantitative and qualitative methodologies in her studies.
