Biography

Mia Falch Yates is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aarhus University in the School of Communication and Culture, specializing in Art History. Her primary research interests encompass museums and sound, museum communication, multisensory experiences in museums, historic house museums, and the intersection of cultural heritage and senses. She is actively involved in projects that explore the integration of sound within museum settings and its impact on visitor experiences. Falch Yates is currently leading a project titled 'Sound Historic Artist Homes', which focuses on how sound can enhance the narrative and engagement of historic house museums. She has published extensively in the areas of sound studies, visitor studies, and heritage communication. With a strong background in museum studies, Falch Yates is committed to qualitative research methodologies, employing sensory ethnography and research design techniques in her work.
