Biography

Miaomiao Jin is an assistant professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at Penn State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019 and her bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2013. Before joining Penn State, she completed a postdoctoral appointment at the Idaho National Laboratory in 2020. Her research focuses on computational materials relevant to nuclear applications, including atomistic simulations of materials' behavior in extreme environments, multiscale modeling of property evolution and degradation, and data-driven predictions of radiation-induced material responses. Miaomiao is actively involved in advancing the understanding of radiation-tolerant materials and exploring innovative methods in materials informatics. Her work aims to address critical challenges in the field of nuclear engineering through detailed analysis and experimental validation of theoretical models.
