Biography

Micah Heilbrunn is currently the Principal Clarinet of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and has previously served as Principal Clarinet for Symphony Nova Scotia. He is a faculty member and MPS instructor in clarinet at the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. His performance career includes highlights from various prestigious events such as the Aspen Music Festival and the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival. He is an active orchestral and chamber musician who has performed with notable groups such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the National Arts Center Orchestra. Heilbrunn is also a member of the Aspen Contemporary Ensemble and has participated in Brave New Works ensemble performances. He has been featured in broadcasts by CBC National Public Radio. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, both from the University of Michigan. Through his ongoing research in creative works, he continues to contribute significantly to the music community.
