Dr. Michael Argenziano

Biography

Michael Argenziano, MD, is an esteemed cardiac surgeon at Columbia University, where he serves as the Associate Chief of the Adult Cardiac Surgery Section at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center. He also directs the Thoracic Surgery Residency Program and the Minimally Invasive Robotic Cardiac Surgery Program. Dr. Argenziano's medical journey began at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he obtained his medical degree. His postgraduate training was completed at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He is board certified in Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Argenziano has authored over 100 publications and is a recognized leader in his field, having led numerous national trials in robotic surgery and atrial fibrillation research. He holds several prestigious awards, including New York Magazine's Top Doctors and the Young Heart Award from the American Heart Association. His research interests span Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, among others. He is currently the principal investigator at Columbia for the NIH/NHLBI Network for Cardiothoracic Surgical Investigations.
