Biography

Michael Armanyous is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto, holding a full-time clinical academic appointment as a clinician teacher. He completed his psychiatric training in the United Kingdom and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in London. Before moving to Toronto, he worked as a Consultant in Community Inpatient Psychiatry in Scotland, where he also served as the Lead Psychiatrist and site research investigator for the Huntington’s Disease Service. Dr. Armanyous has extensive experience in Addiction Psychiatry in the UK and has been heavily involved in the development of Mental Health Services. His teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and he supervises Psychiatric Family Physician Residents and Medical Students. He provides supervision in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to residents. His particular interests lie in Psychotherapy, Trauma, and Spirituality, and he has completed a BABCP Accredited Diploma in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Royal Holloway, University of London, along with additional training in various psychotherapeutic modalities.
