Biography

Prof. Michael Georg Bader works on hardware-aware algorithms in computational science engineering and high performance computing. He focuses on the challenges posed by the latest supercomputing platforms and the development of suitable, efficient, scalable algorithms for software simulation tasks in science and engineering. His research group is located at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre. Prof. Bader studied computer science and earned his PhD in 2001 from the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He served as the coordinator for the Elite Master’s Program in 'Computational Engineering' as part of the Elite Network Bavaria and the Munich Centre of Advanced Computing. From 2009 to 2011, he accepted a professorship at TUM and worked as an assistant professor (Juniorprofessor) at the SimTech Cluster of Excellence at the University of Stuttgart.
