Biography

Michael Bennett is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of Windsor. He has a PhD in Social Work from the University of Windsor and has previously worked at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work. His expertise is recognized nationally in fields such as hospice palliative care, end-of-life care, and the integration of artificial intelligence in social work. He co-founded Oneday Dreams, a charity dedicated to fulfilling dreams for adults aged 18 and over, which speaks to his commitment to improving quality of life. His research interests include the inequalities and marginalization within the palliative care field, focusing on the challenges faced by social workers, particularly in relation to power dynamics and cultural issues. Bennett has received multiple awards for his community contributions and leadership in social work. He is also actively involved in editorial roles and has published peer-reviewed articles that address various aspects of social work in palliative contexts. His presentations at international conferences further contribute to advocating for innovative practices in social work.
