Biography

Michael Brennan is a professor of finance, previously holding positions at UCLA and the London Business School. He served as the president of the American Finance Association and was a founding editor of the Review of Financial Studies. He has consulted extensively for corporations in Canada and was awarded the INQUIRE Europe prize in 1995 for his work on corporate hedging strategies. His research interests include asset pricing, corporate finance, the pricing role of derivative securities, and market microstructure, specifically the role of information in capital markets. He has published extensively in these areas and is currently focused on issues related to asset allocation that investors face in time-varying opportunity sets, initial public offerings, allocation of control rights in corporations, determinants of international flows of portfolio investment, and the role of convertible securities in corporate finance, as well as corporate hedging strategies.
