Biography

Michael M. Chan is an Associate Professor and Program Director for the Advanced Education General Dentistry and General Practice Residency at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry. He graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School in 1997. Following his graduation, he completed the General Practice Residency Program at UTSD Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital-TMC in 1999. Since joining the faculty at UTSD in 1999, Dr. Chan has been actively involved in dental education while maintaining a private practice. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospital Dentists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Special Care Dentistry. Additionally, he holds membership in the American Dental Association and has achieved Master status from the Academy of General Dentistry. His commitment to both academics and clinical practice reflects his dedication to improving patient care and dental education.
