Biography

Michael X. Delli Carpini is the Oscar H. Gandy Emeritus Professor of Communication & Democracy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication. He served as the Walter H. Annenberg Dean from 2003 until the end of 2018. With a secondary appointment in the Department of Political Science, he has made significant contributions to the understanding of public opinion and democracy. Among his accolades are the 2008 Book Award from the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the Murray Edelman Distinguished Career Award from the Political Communication Division of the American Political Science Association. In 2018, he was elected a Fellow of the International Communication Association.
