Dr. Michael Dimitriyev

Biography

Michael Dimitriyev is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science Engineering at Texas A&M University. He pursued his Ph.D. in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he also completed his M.S. in Physics. His educational background includes a B.A. in Physics Mathematics from Boston University. Dr. Dimitriyev's research focuses on soft matter theory computation, with a particular emphasis on geometry-based models. His work encompasses polymer physics and nanoscale self-assembly, delving into statistical mechanics and phase transitions. He is also investigating shape-morphing materials and nonlinear elasticity, contributing to the understanding of mechanical metamaterials, soft composites, architected materials, and fiber networks and textiles.
