Biography

Michael Dinsmore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Saskatchewan and underwent post-doctoral research focused on the development of medical diagnostic biosensors utilizing nanotechnology. Additionally, he earned his medical degree, completed residency training in Anesthesia at the University of Toronto, and a fellowship in Neuroanesthesia at the Toronto Western Hospital. His research interests center around advancing and developing new technologies in Anesthesia, which includes the creation of novel anesthetic equipment and the use of 3D printed models for ultrasound education. He is also interested in employing virtual reality to help reduce anxiety in awake neurosurgical procedures.
